Acoustic Pianos

An acoustic piano is a wooden box containing stretched steel strings. Hammers are connected to the piano keys. When keys are played the hammers strikes the steel strings. The strings vibrate through the sound board and box to produce sound. Because those vibrations are initiated by hammers hitting the strings rather than by plucking or by moving a bow across them, the piano falls into the realm of percussion instruments.
